For barrels & receivers designed following 1905: Receivers obtaining the “WP” proof but no “WP” or “Oval P” evidence around the barrel would reveal the barrel was changed outside of Winchester using a pre-1905 barrel.
To your best of my know-how, should you find a pre-1905 Winchester that has a “WP” evidence on the barrel, although not over the receiver, any person other than Winchester swapped the barrel.
